Summary & Reader Response Draft #1

Though lifesaving backpack technology, such as drones are not new, they are not as accessible to firefighters. Therefore, professors at the Georgia State University aim to develop better drones to fight wildfires more effectively. Their drone—named KHawk is designed to fly autonomously with ground control while transmitting weather data, including forecasts of where the flames will spread next. The U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) started flying drone missions in 2010 with about 200 total flights. DOI plans to expand the drone fleeting mission and began the first use of UAS for aerial ignition operations. The main concept of using the intentional ignition approach is to set a fire which burns back towards the main fire line, ultimately depriving the main fire line of adequate fuel to go forward, starving the flames, and putting them out.  Drone Amplified, a company based in Lincoln, Nebraska, developed the IGNIS drone payload system. Soon, remotely piloted aircraft will play an in

Formal Self Introduction Letter

Dear Professor Brad, Allow me to introduce myself. I am Soh Jun Yang from tutorial group 6, and I am currently taking your module, effective communication. I graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Aerospace Engineering with Business Management. As a young child, I was always fascinated by planes and how they can take flight, at the same time having the ability to navigate in the air without signboards or traffic lights to aid their destination. This had led me to pursue a diploma with relation to aeronautics. With the knowledge I gained from taking my diploma, I wish to further expand my understanding of the fourth industrial revolution by taking my degree in mechanical engineering. Throughout my time in polytechnic, I felt that my communication strength is being open-minded. Any good communicator should enter any conversation (be it work or personal) with a flexible and open mind. For instance, while I was interning in ST Aerospace, I was placed under the quality as

According to Sherwyn Morreale, Michael Osborn & Judy Pearson of Professors of Communication in 2000, employers believe communication to be one of the core values that every graduate should possess. Claiming that it is the key for acquiring employment and maintaining a better job performance.
